January 6-10:
Welcome back form our winter break. This week we will take a few days and work on Long Jump Rope skills with Elliott, Clark and Foelkl. Dizney, Redigar and Rosendahl will review behavior expectations and play a variety of games inside. We plan to do fitness bank this week with Folkl, Redigar, Dizney and Rosendahl which I am sure will be a favorite with the kids.
January 13-17
The jumping continues this week and I am seeing some great progress in all the students as they challenge themselves to new tricks with the single long rope as well as mulitiple ropes.
January 20-24
With this shortened week we launched into learning a three step pattern for the students to do as a rhythmic activity with the 2nd grade and up. We also began our study of germs as our health unit. Some germ type games will be brought into our physical activity time next week.
January 27-31
Again another shortened week. From our district wide meeting on Monday we bring to our PE classes ideas of ways to implement and support the Common Core Standards in our PE classes. This week we will also continue with the Stomp Clap rhythmic activity as well as bring in those health related games.
